I had a farm in Africa.

It all began...

...after two long stays in Namibia. In 1990 I fulfilled my dream and opened a farm in the north of the country. I bought 10 ostriches, which multiplied beautifully, and discovered the potential of this special leather.

In the middle of the impressive expanse of Africa, I met the love of my life - a woman from Hamburg who soon became my wife. Together with our two daughters, we made the farm our home and a very special place - also for tourists.

As the number of visitors grew, we realized that our farm had the potential to create something unique: exclusive, hand-made leather goods. With the support of a retired master bag maker from Germany, we set up our own workshop on the farm where I learned the leather craft. This passion gave rise to our concept: "From the egg to the bag"

After 10 years...

...our world in Namibia began to change in 2000. Attacks on tourists in the north and the crisis in neighboring Zimbabwe caused tourism, our most important source of livelihood, to falter. The impending start of our daughters' schooling also presented us with new decisions.

True to the motto "You should stop when things are at their best", we made the difficult decision to leave the country that had become our home.

But our friendships and close ties to this extraordinary country continue to this day. We return every year to visit old friends and buy the finest ostrich leather.

Today...

...I run an exclusive leather workshop in Germany. In my factory, idyllically located on the edge of a village, I have been making hand-made, highly exclusive leather goods for over 20 years.

Each piece is made with the utmost care and attention to detail as a truly unique piece – of course from the finest, genuine ostrich leather, which I continue to source from Namibia and South Africa.

My products combine exclusivity, tradition and a very special, personal story.
